Before you commit

The questions we hear most

If you're weighing up a designer in Nairobi, you're probably asking some of these. We answer all of them, honestly, on the first call.

  • Will the finished space actually match the mood board you show me?
  • How much will a full furnish-and-fit actually cost?
  • Can you work to a phone budget without it looking cheap?
  • Who manages the fundis, deliveries and site visits — me or you?
  • How long before I can move in or open to customers?
  • Do you design for apartments and rentals, not just big homes?

Why it matters

A space that works as hard as it looks

A good interior isn't just a pretty photo. When we furnish an apartment or fit out a business, we plan how you move through the room, where the light falls, and how every piece earns its place, so the finished space feels calmer to live in and easier to run. That's the difference between decorating and designing.

How we help

Three things we take off your plate

We plan the space

Layouts, flow and a clear design direction, tailored to how you actually use the room.

We source everything

Furniture, finishes and décor procured for you, at trade prices we pass on.

We manage the build

Joinery, installation and styling coordinated end to end, so you deal with one team.

What sets us apart

Not the cheapest fundi, not an untouchable boutique

Plenty of Nairobi options sit at two extremes: a fundi who'll build whatever you draw with no design thinking, or a luxury firm that won't talk to you under a seven-figure budget. We sit deliberately in between. You get a proper designer's eye and a managed process, at prices that work for a real Nairobi apartment, office or shop, with the same care whether it's one room or a whole building.

Questions

Interior design in Nairobi FAQ

How much does interior design cost in Nairobi?

Design fees in Nairobi typically run KES 1,500–10,000 per square metre, and a full furnish-and-fit ranges from a few hundred thousand to several million shillings. We give a free, itemised quote before any work starts, see our interior design cost guide for real KES ranges.

Are you a full interior design company or just decorators?

Both. Hauzisha Interiors is a full-service interior design and decoration company, we handle space planning and design, then source furniture and finishes and manage the trades through to installation.

Do you work outside Nairobi?

Yes. We're based in Westlands, Nairobi and design for clients across Kenya, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu and beyond. Concept work is remote; we travel for installation.

How long does an interior design project take?

Your first design concept lands within about 7 days. A single room takes 2–4 weeks; a full home or office fit-out usually runs 6–12 weeks depending on scope.

What are the four types of interior design?

Broadly: residential (homes and apartments), commercial (offices, retail, restaurants), hospitality (hotels, short-lets, spas) and the decoration/styling of an existing space. We work across residential and commercial, from affordable refreshes to luxury fit-outs.
