Wall Unit Designs in Kenya
Hauzisha Interiors has designed and built living room wall units and TV units across Kenya since 2019. We supply ready-made units and, more often, design custom wall units fitted to the exact wall, so your television, media boxes and storage sit in one clean run rather than on a stand pushed against the plaster. Because we are a full interior design studio in Westlands, every wall unit is drawn to match the room, its lighting and its proportions, not bought off a showroom floor and hoped to fit. Every project starts with a free consultation at your space.
What wall units we design in Kenya
A wall unit is a fitted or freestanding cabinet run built around the living room television, combining a media shelf, display space, closed storage and cable routing in one piece. In Kenya you buy them two ways. A ready-made TV or wall unit is a finished item you collect and place against the wall, sized to a standard footprint. A custom-built wall unit is designed and constructed to your wall, so it uses the full height and width, hides the cabling, and is finished to match your floor and joinery. We handle both, but as a design studio our core work is the custom route: we measure the wall, draw the unit, and build it in MDF, plywood or veneer with the storage, lighting and cable management set out before a single board is cut. For a TV unit we plan the screen height, the soundbar gap, the box for the decoder and router, and a channel that keeps every cable out of sight.
Wall unit types and styles in Kenya
| Type | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Floating / wall-mounted unit | Small living rooms, apartments | Cabinet fixed to the wall, floor left clear, TV mounted above |
| Floor-standing TV unit | Standard living rooms | Freestanding or fitted low unit with drawers and open shelf |
| Full-wall built-in | Feature walls, media rooms | Floor-to-ceiling design across the whole wall with integrated lighting |
What wall units cost in Kenya
Ready-made TV and wall units in Kenya cost KES 12,000 to 42,000 depending on size, material and finish. Custom-built wall units are quote-based: the price is set by the size of the wall, the material (MDF, plywood or veneer) and the finish you choose, so a compact fitted unit costs far less than a floor-to-ceiling media wall. As a guide, custom joinery in Kenya runs broadly KES 22,000 to 40,000 or more per square metre of built cabinetry, which is why we quote after measuring rather than quoting a flat figure. A bought unit is cheaper on day one; a fitted floor-to-ceiling design costs more but uses the whole wall, hides the cables and adds real storage. Our wall unit process
- Free consultation and measurement. We visit your home, measure the wall and note the TV size, sockets and where the cables need to run.
- Design. We draw the unit to the wall, set the screen height and storage layout, and choose the material and finish with you.
- Build. The unit is cut and assembled in MDF, plywood or veneer, with the lighting and cable channels built in.
- Install. We fit and level the unit, mount the TV, route the cables and hand over a finished wall.
Why choose our wall unit team
We are a full interior design studio, not a furniture shop, so your wall unit is designed to sit with the whole room rather than added on afterwards. We have designed 120+ spaces across Nairobi and Kenya, hold a 4.9 star average rating, and deliver a first concept within 7 days of your consultation. Design, build and installation run as one team from our Westlands studio, so you deal with a single point of contact from quote to handover. A fitted wall unit works best alongside the rest of the room, so we often plan it with the full living room design and the ceiling and lighting at the same time.

Wall unit FAQ
How much does a wall unit cost in Kenya?
Ready-made TV and wall units cost KES 12,000 to 42,000. Custom-built wall units are quote-based, priced by the size of the wall, the material and the finish, with built-in cabinetry running broadly KES 22,000 to 40,000 or more per square metre. We give a fixed KES quote after measuring.
Should I buy a ready-made unit or have one built?
A ready-made unit is cheaper and quicker, but it is a standard size placed against the wall. A custom-built unit is designed to your exact wall, uses the full height, hides the cables and adds more storage, so it suits feature walls and floor-to-ceiling media designs.
What materials do you build wall units in?
We build in MDF, plywood and veneer. MDF takes a clean painted or laminate finish, plywood adds strength for larger runs, and veneer gives a real timber look. The material affects both the price and the finish.
How long does it take to build a wall unit?
A custom wall unit typically takes about two to three weeks from approved design to installation, depending on the size, the finish and the material. We confirm the timeline at the quote stage.
Can the unit include the TV and cable management?
Yes. We plan the TV mount, the soundbar gap, a box for the decoder and router, and a hidden channel for every cable, so the screen and media sit in the unit with nothing on show. We can also build in LED strip lighting.
